On Palatalization of k in the Classical Chinese and e of Menggu Ziyun

提要:腭化是汉语史研究中的重要话题。《蒙古字韵》一书中的e,龙果夫等学者认为是腭化的标志。但王力认为腭化发生在明代,元代是不可能有腭化的。杨耐思批驳了龙果夫的观点,指出《蒙古字韵》中的e与声母腭化无关,而是韵母区别的标志。

Palatalization is an important proposition in the research on the Classical Chinese.The e in Menggu Ziyun had been regarded by Dragunov as symbol of palatalization,which had begun in Ming Dynasty,not Yuan Dynasty in Wang Li's opinion.In contradicting with Dragunov,Yang Naisi has pointed out that the e in Menggu Ziyunis a symbol of distinguishing between divisions of finals,regardless of palatalization of initials.
