当代西方学界在话语层面上的后现代文化转向,造成当代人文主义的失语,以及各种反人文主义思潮的崛起。作为晚近以来当代西方人文主义理论研究的重要成果,英国马克思主义学者奥尔德森等人主编的理论文集《保卫人文主义》,运用历史阐释的研究方法梳理现当代西方人文主义的发展脉络与理论资源,对人文主义的思想发展史,特别是当代问题史做出历史性探讨。该理论文集从思想本体与认识方法两个层面考察“保卫人文主义”的语境意义、理论资源和批判经验,并在此基础上重建当代西方人文主义思潮的马克思主义精神谱系。

Contemporary Western academia's turn to postmodern culture at the discursive level results in the rise and spread of anti-humanist discourses,along with the absence of humanism.As an important theoretical study on contemporary Western humanism,For Humanism edited by British Marxist scholars David Alder and Robert Spencer,employs the methodology of historical interpretation,through recollecting and re-evaluating the theoretical developments of contemporary Western humanism,presents a historical discussion of humanism in its historical evolution,in particular its history of the problematic,and explores the contextualized significance of defending humanism with its theoretical resources and critical experiences at both levels of ontological thoughts and epistemic methods,and reflects the Marxist spiritual genealogy of contemporary western humanist movements.
