Focusing on changes in the world situation and responding to major issues of the times,President Xi Jin-ping’s diplomatic thought is a concentrated expression of China’s wisdom of international relations.His diplomatic thought follows the historical law of thedevelopment of international relations,assesses rationally the value presuppositions behind the traditional theories in the field,adheres to thedevelopment of the Marxist theory of international relations,and consistently takes the Chinese road as its theoretical background;the thought doesnot view China’s relations with the world in terms of traditional international relations theories,nor does it define and measure China’sdevelopment in terms of Western concepts of international relations.This historic transcendence of traditional theories international relations hasdirectly guided the practical diplomacy of a major country with Chinese characteristics,answering with Chinese wisdom the age-old question ofwhat relations between China and the outside world are needed and how to build such relations.
