寺庙教育作为南传佛教主要传播方式之一,不仅向信众传递了上座部佛教的教义,还向信众传播了文学、艺术、医学、建筑甚至体育运动等知识。作为南传佛教的盛行地,云南傣族地区在南传佛教的影响下,政治、经济、文化各方面都有了巨大的进步,傣族人民的素质也得到了极大提升,傣族的社会稳定也得到了一定的维护。
