发生学是研究人类知识如何发生以及为何发生的一个逻辑推理方法和理论研究范式,用发生学的方法研究“马克思主义为无产阶级代言”有助于克服不证自明地接受马克思主义的态度。发生学意义上马克思主义为无产阶级代言的含义是“经典形态马克思主义为工业无产阶级代言”,是整体性马克思主义基本立场的普遍性规律作为在大工业时代条件下理论创立时期的特殊性规律的集中反映,唯物史观普遍意义上马克思主义究竟是在为谁代言,一定意义上是多个不同的历史发生学场域相互衔接和综合作用的结果,这是“马克思主义为无产阶级代言”的逻辑。相反,脱离大工业时代条件笼统地谈论“马克思主义为无产阶级代言”,在方法论上就会陷入绝对主义的泥潭,在历史观上也没有最大程度地贯彻马克思主义历史观的思想逻辑,这是“马克思主义为无产阶级代言”的限度。
