Military Sociology:Research Approaches and Methods

军事社会学研究方法沿着定量与定性两类进路发展。定量研究揭示军事现象的普遍性联系与模式,定性研究进路探索意义与因果机制,两种进路在准入、军事伦理、因果性等方法论方面均具有独特性。现代数据分析技术、互联网技术、数据库等为军事社会学研究方法提供了整合与发展的机会与空间,未来的军事社会学研究方法将以混合进路、跨国研究和数字化发展为特征,两种进路也将日益融合。

The research methods of military sociology have developed along two approaches:quantitative and qualitative.Quantitative research reveals the universal connections and patterns of military phenomena,and qualitative research approaches explore meaning and causal mechanisms.Both approaches are unique in terms of access,military ethics,and causality.Modern data analysis technology,Internet technology,databases,etc.provide opportunities and space for the integration and development of military sociology research methods.The future military sociology research methods will be characterized by mixed approaches,transnational research and digital development.The two roads will also be increasingly integrated.
