《释名疏证补》的语言学批评

The linguistic perspective of The complementary of Shimingshuzheng(释名疏证补)

王先谦《释名疏证补》是《释名》注释中影响较大的著述,但由于缺乏具体的研究,后人误以此书为《释名》研究的"集大成之作",导致至今缺乏对此书的正确评判,成为《释名》研究史上的缺憾。本文从语言学角度进行分析,认为《释名疏证补》的作者群体存在语言观念落后、小学功底薄弱、疏证工作不彻底等明显的不足,这些不足造成了大量似是而非的结论。本文之作,目的是廓清《释名》研究史上的误识,表明《释名》的注释、疏通在今天仍有进一步着力的必要。

The complementary of Shimingshuzheng by Wang Xianqian(王先谦) was the most informative writings in the history of the studies on Shiming(释名) by Liuxi(刘熙).From the linguistic point of view,the author points out the linguistic errors along with instances,such as linguistic concepts behind the times,a poor exegesis foundation,incomplete annotation work etc which caused lots of paradoxical conclusion.However,with no specific research on it,researchers wrongly assumed that The complementary of Shimingshuzheng was the the most successful works,so there has not been a good research work on Shiming in annotation.The purpose of this paper is not to criticize the ancients but to show that there is a lot of work to do on explanatory notes of Shiming.
