谈唐王叔文撰爱女王嫋墓志

翰林院棋待诏、娱侍东宫皇太子李诵的直官王叔文27岁得女,取名嫋表达爱怜。可惜她久病不愈难以婚配,休养于家接受教育,学习实践女德妇仪,略通文史,擅写多种字体。于贞元十八年(802)23岁时病亡,父亲在“五十而知天命”之年丧女,痛彻心腑,撰志纾悲。《王嫋墓志》是唐朝永贞革新领袖传世的第一篇散文,亦文章大手。墓志记其易名王玄运,见于吕温的文集,自有与王叔文情投意合为文学忘年交的情感牵系。

Wang Niao was the Tang offical Wang Shuwen’s daughter.She didn’t marry due to enduring illness until her death at the age of 23.She had a good character and was good at literary and history as well as calligraphy.Her epitaph was written by her grieved father,which became the first extant prose of Wang Shuwen,leader of the Yonghzen Reform.The epitaph records that Wang Niao changed her name to Wang Xuanyun,which is also found in the collected works of Lv Wen.It also records the daughter and father’s love for literary,as well as their friendship.
