数字金融对商业银行风险承担的影响机制研究

A Study on the Influence of Digital Finance on Commercial Banks’ Risk-Taking

数字化转型已成为商业银行创新发展趋势,但其对银行风险带来的影响不容忽视。文章从理论机制上阐述数字金融对商业银行风险承担的影响机理,并采用2011-2019年中国79家商业银行的非平衡面板数据进行实证分析。结果表明:第一,整体而言,数字金融发展显著提升中国商业银行风险承担;第二,从影响机制来看,数字金融通过抬高管理成本进而加剧风险承担,而业务多元化中介效应并不显著;第三,关于影响异质性,数字金融对东部地区与大中型银行风险承担的影响更为显著。商业银行要充分利用数字金融发展契机,运用新兴技术提升风控水平,警惕数字化经营引起的内在风险和其投入成本过高带来的低效益风险。

Digital transformation has been a new trend in the innovation and development of commercial banks,while its impact on bank risks can not be ignored.This paper firstly explains the mechanism that digital finance affects commercial banks’risk-taking,and then makes an empirical analysis by using the unbalanced panel data of 79 commercial banks in China from 2011 to 2019.The results show that:first,on the whole,the development of digital finance significantly increases the risk-taking of Chinese commercial banks.Second,from the perspective of impact mechanism,digital finance increases banks’risk-taking by driving up management costs,while the mediating effect of business diversification is not significant.Third,in terms of heterogeneity,the impact is more pronounced in eastern regions and large and medium-sized banks.Commercial banks should make good use of the opportunity of digital finance development,use emerging technologies to improve the level of risk control,and be alert to the inherent risks caused by digital operation and the low benefit risk caused by its high input cost.
