Buzhong Yiqi Decoction(补中益气汤)is one of the classic prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine,which is the concentrated embodiment of LI Dongyuan's thought of treating spleen and stomach diseases.Professor WEN Yandong has been engaged in the medical treatment,scientific research and teaching of digestive system diseases for nearly 30 years.She is very good at using the method of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine to diagnose and treat common and difficult diseases in gastroenterology.Professor WEN Yandong emphasizes the combination of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation when Buzhong Yiqi Decoction is applied to clinical treatment and the formula is flexible and effective.In this article,we reviewed the theoretical origin of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction,introduced in detail the academic thought and characteristic experience of Professor WEN in applying Buzhong Yiqi Decoction to treat spleen and stomach diseases,and systematically explained the clinical thinking and diagnostic features of Professor WEN,supported by two clinical cases.
