Relevance and Limits of Hegel’s Philosophy Today

黑格尔哲学自身的特点决定了对黑格尔的哲学研究不仅要杜绝历史性视角与体系性视角的分离,而且也不能仅仅满足于将其归类到某个哲学范式,而是必须对黑格尔思想进行体系性批判。这就意味着,黑格尔研究自身要求我们一方面指出它在当今世界的意义,另一方面也要合理指出它的限度。本文探讨的主题“人类尊严作为普遍原则与多元主义的规范观念之间的张力”如何与黑格尔的实践哲学相关,就正是对以上思路的践行与尝试。文章分为三个部分:首先,阐明一种“厚”的伦理原则,将尊严的普遍性要求与世俗社会背景下的多元主义结合起来,指出这种“综合性”所指向的正是黑格尔的实践哲学;其次,借助于西普的研究,指明了在思考“尊严与多元主义”问题中所彰显出来的黑格尔哲学中依然活着的部分,以及或许已经死去的部分;最后,总结性地指出黑格尔对客观精神的构想在当代仍具有巨大的潜力,但要以澄清其限度作为前提。

The characteristics of Hegel’s philosophy itself determine that the research on Hegel’s philosophy should not only put an end to the separation of the historical perspective and the systematic perspective,and to the satisfaction with classifying it into a certain philosophical paradigm,but must provide a systematic critique of Hegel’s thought itself.This means that the study of Hegel itself requires us to point out its relevance in today’s world on the one hand,and point out its limits reasonably on the other hand.How the theme discussed in this paper,namely how“the tension between human dignity as a universal principle and the normative concept of pluralism”is related to Hegel’s practical philosophy is the practice and attempt of the above idea.This paper is divided into three parts.Firstly,I clarified a“thick”ethical principle,which combines the universality of dignity with the pluralism in the secular social background,and points out that this“complexity”points to Hegel’s Practical philosophy;secondly,with the help of Siep’s research,I exposed which parts of Hegel’s philosophy that are still alive and perhaps dead in terms of thinking about the problem of“dignity and pluralism”;thirdly,I conclude that Hegel’s conception of the objective spirit has great potential for the present,but it presupposes a clarification of its limits.
