Needham's journey to wartime China in 1943—1946 is of great significance which fundamentally transferred his research interests and metamorphosed himself from a biochemist to a historian of Chinese science and technology.Establishing the writing career and spiritual implication of latter half of Needham,the journey also shows the value of his ideology and spiritual heritage.
