In the novel The Magic Mountain,Thomas Mann creatively rewrote the traditional“Walpurgis night”on Broken Hill as a rave party in a nursing home for patients,creating a modern irrational mythical space.In the modern“Walpuis Night”,in which the protagonist turns from devil to human and the location moves from wilderness to indoor,Thomas Mann criticizes the enlightenment reason and sings about the will to life to overcome the crisis of modernity.
