I gave the project"Holes in Nishioi"a subtitle"Urban wild Ecology".The terms"urban"and"wild"seem contradictory.we projected onto these words a toughness of weeds that grow spontaneously in the city, the tenacity to live in the tiny gaps between asphalt and concrete. The city is already full of buildings. So why not carve out our own dwelling from these constructions? In our search for a home,we chose Nishioi, which offers direct access to Shinagawa,Tokyo,Shibuya, and Shinjuku.
