Rethinking materials and tools:space for reconstructing social relationships

建筑设计中理性的过程是不可或缺的,我们无法忽视效率性、合理性和经济性等方面的设计考量,但这些过程中事先的计划也限制了我们的生活方式。在历史上,建筑师结合时代背景通过已建成的建筑和未实现的构想,还有言论以及绘画来表达各种理念。然而,我认为这些理念只有一部分是奏效的。虽然这些理念深深地刻有时代的烙印,但建筑在此后依旧会长久存续下去。建筑的存在本身并不具有意义,我们始终关注的是“当下”,即如何去制作和使用。通过亲自在现场制作,并进一步使用自己制作的物品,便能参与到计划之外变化的过程中去,去超越原先的理性计划,这成为了我们的方法论和实践论。无论是新建还是改造,在对现状进行干预的这一点上是不变的,因此面对这种干预我们重视以下五点。

The rational process in architectural design is indispensable.we cannot ignore considerations such as efficiency,rationality,and economy in design,but these pre-planning processes also limit our ways of living.Historically,architects have expressed ideas,in the context of their times,through constructed buildings,unfulfilled concepts,as well as through discourse and drawings.I believe that only a part of these ideas has been effective.while ideas are deeply marked by their era,buildings continue to exist long afterwards.
