15年前,我在印度孟买郊外的小镇Nandgaon停留时,遇到了一位宛如飘浮着的老人。他盘腿坐在入口前的遮阳廊下一块悬挂在屋架梁的像秋千一样的大木板上,在湿润的外部空气和柔和的反射光中阅读。老人与自然亲密相交、不为任何特定目的而满足的姿态,正展现了度过余暇时间和空间的丰富情境。从那时起,我持续进行了对世界各地带有屋顶的半室外空间的学术研究和实地考察。
Fifteen years ago,during a visit to in the outskirts of Mumbai,India,in the small town of Nandgaon,I encountered a elderly man who seemed to be floating.He sat beneath the entrance shade,on a large wooden board hanging like a swing from the cottage rafters,immersed in reading amidst the moist air and reflected light.The elderly man,harmonizing with nature without a specific agenda,vividly painted a scene of abundant leisure time and space.Since that moment,I have continued academic research and fieldwork around the world,focusing on roofed semi-outdoor spaces.
