The paper reviews the design and construction process of Shanghai Gymnasium in details, and analyzes its architectural achievements. Combined with the current urban renewal theme, the paper considers how to make the existing sports buildings, which maintain the feelings of the public, and to be reborn with the strategy of "protection, transformation and renewal".
