从参数化设计优化到计算机辅助设计综合——设计搜索空间如何作为设计反思的媒介

FROM PARAMETRIC DESIGN OPTIMIZATION TO COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN SYNTHESIS: HOW DESIGN SEARCH SPACE CAN SUPPORT DESIGN REFLECTION

参数化设计优化常被用于建筑性能化设计,以借助计算机实现由建筑性能驱动的半自动化设计优化。虽然计算机可以无主观意图地在海量的设计变体中搜索优解,但参数化设计优化的结果仍与人为设定的优化问题有着密切的联系。通过对设计师与参数化设计优化之间的媒介——设计搜索空间的讨论,本文试图说明参数化设计优化结果的质量与用于描述设计概念的参数化建模方法之间的关系。文章通过两个具体设计优化案例阐明,不明确或不合理的设计优化问题定义会导致不适用的设计搜索空间,以及调整和优化设计搜索空间的方法。

Parametric design optimization is often used in performative architectural design for achieving a semiautomated performance-driven design optimization process.Although computers can search for optimal ones in a massive number of design alternatives unbiasedly,the result of optimization can be affected by designers’definitions of optimization problems.With the discussion on design search spaces which is the medium between designers and parametric design optimization,the paper is aimed to clarify the relationship between the quality of parametric design optimization and the parametric modelling approach to describing the design concept.With two case studies,the paper shows how poor-or illdefined optimization problems can result in inappropriate design search spaces and how designers can improve these problematic design search spaces.
