数字技能能否缓解老年人的金融排斥

随着我国老龄化程度的日益加深,老年金融服务问题凸显,老年人的金融排斥现象严重。基于此,本文采用2014—2018年中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)的微观数据,探究了数字技能的提升对缓解老年人金融排斥的作用机理。研究发现:第一,老年人数字技能的提升,可减少其在面临金融需求时的信息不对称,缓解老年人的金融排斥。第二,老年人对互联网的重视程度、受教育程度和健康状况均在数字技能缓解老年人金融排斥过程中具有正向调节效应,其中对互联网重视程度的影响最大。第三,相对民间金融排斥,数字技能对来自正规金融机构金融排斥的缓解效果更显著。基于以上研究结论,为提升我国老年人金融服务效率,帮助其跨越数字鸿沟,推动普惠金融走深走实,本文提出如下政策建议:加强对适老金融产品和服务的监管力度、提升老年人的数字技能、推进数字金融产品的适老化改造。

With the increasing aging of China,the problem of financial services for the elderly has been highlighted,and the phenomenon of financial exclusion among the elderly is pronounced.Based on this,this paper uses microdata from the 2014-2018 China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)to explore the mechanism of the role of digital skills enhancement in alleviating financial exclusion among the elderly.It is found that,first,the enhancement of digital skills of the elderly can reduce their information asymmetry when facing financial needs and alleviate their financial exclusion.Second,the degree of importance attached to the Internet,the level of education and health status of the elderly all have a positive moderating effect in the process of alleviating the financial exclusion of the elderly by digital skills,with the degree of importance attached to the Internet having the greatest effect.Third,compared with private financial exclusion,digital skills have a more significant effect on alleviating financial exclusion from formal financial institutions.Based on the above findings,in order to enhance the efficiency of financial services for the elderly in China,to help them cross the digital divide,and to promote the deepening of inclusive finance,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations:to strengthen the supervision of elderly-appropriate financial products and services,to enhance the digital skills of the elderly,and to promote the elderly-appropriate transformation of digital financial products.
