古诗词英译的翻译变通策略

中国古诗词是中国传统文化的瑰宝,也是西方世界了解中国文化的重要途径。但是由于汉英语言与文化上的差异,加之古汉语语体灵活的句法变化,为古诗词英译造成了诸多困难。研究基于中西方翻译家的古诗词译本,探究了翻译变通策略在古诗词翻译中的应用,提出译者在必要时进行翻译变通,有助于原诗含义的完美呈现,提高译本的可接受性,减弱时间距离感,增加读者的沉浸感,能够让西方读者更好地体会古诗文的美感,了解中国诗歌艺术,这对于促进东西方文化交流,弘扬我国传统文化,推动中国文化走向世界有着极其重要的意义和作用。

Ancient Chinese poetry,as the treasure of Chinese traditional culture,plays an important role for the west to understand Chinese culture.However,due to the differences between Chinese and English language and culture,as well as the flexible changes on syntax in ancient Chinese,the translation of ancient poems into English has many difficulties.The study is based on the translation versions of ancient poetry by Chinese and Western translators,explores the application of translation adaptation strategies in the translation of ancient poetry,and proposes that the translator should make translation adaptations when necessary,which is conducive to the perfect presentation of the original meaning of the poem,improves the acceptability of the translation,weakens the sense of time distance,strengthens readers’sense of immersion and makes western readers better understand the beauty of ancient poetry and the art of Chinese poetry,which is of great significance for facilitating the cultural exchanges between east and west,carrying forward China’s traditional culture and promoting Chinese culture to the world.
