抗战时期及其后一段时间,世界顶级鼠疫专家伯力士应国民政府之请,主要采取跟随见习的培养方式,先后在浙江衢县鼠疫防治见习班、湖南常德鼠疫防治人员训练班、江西南城鼠疫讲习班、福建东南鼠疫防治讲习班,培养了一大批在鼠疫预防工程、鼠疫医治、鼠疫检验和环境卫生消杀等方面理论水平与实践能力俱优的人才。伯力士拥有深厚的医学理论素养、高超的科研水平、丰富的鼠疫防治实践经验和很强的敬业精神,他所编写的鼠疫防治培训教材,被全国各医卫机构采用,为近代中国鼠疫防治人才的培养作出了重大贡献。

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and in its subsequent period,at the request of the national government,Robert Pollitzer,the world's top plague expert,successively taught in the plague prevention and control trainee class in Quxian,Zhejiang,the plague prevention and control personnel training class in Changde,Hunan,the plague study group in Nancheng,Jiangxi and the plague prevention and control workshop in Southeast Fujian.He mainly adopted the trainee training mode and fostered a large number of talents with excellent theoretical and practical abilities in plague preven⁃tion,plague treatment,plague inspection and environmental health extermination.Doctor Pollitzer had profound medical the⁃oretical literacy,first⁃rate scientific research level,rich practical experience in plague prevention and control and superb pro⁃fessional spirit.The plague prevention and control training materials he compiled was widely used by various medical and health institutions in China,making a significant contribution to the training of plague prevention and control personnel in modern China.
