论王猛在前秦的政绩和军功

Wang Meng’s Political and Military Achievements in Pre-Qin Dynasty

王猛是十六国时期杰出的政治家、军事家,在政绩方面,他帮助苻坚诛暴君、除豪强,改革政治,发展生产及文化教育事业,关心民瘼,使中国北方一度出现升平景象。在武功方面,他先是负责完成攻灭前燕,后又负责灭前凉的前期战事,为前秦最终统一北方作出了重要贡献。虽然王猛死后,前秦因淝水一战而败亡,但不能因此就埋没了王猛的功绩。本来史书对王猛之功绩有所介绍,但现今中国史研究者对其甚少提及。本文陈述王猛的政绩和军功,意在说明:凡是中国古史中的人物,都属我们的先祖,只要其对中国历史发展有过贡献,应不分族别、"国别"而均予以肯定和表彰。

Wang Meng was a distinguished statesman and strategist during the period of the Sixteen Kingdoms.In terms of political achievements,he assisted Fu Jian in getting rid of the tyrannical rulers and despotic gentry,carrying out political reforms,developing production and improving culture and education,and caring for the livelihood of the people,so that peace once prevailed in the North.In terms of military accomplishments,he assisted Fu Jian in planning to defeat Qianyan,Qianliang,and many armed groups of ethnic minorities,so that they not only unified the north,but also occupied Sichuan,Yunnan and Guizhou,and finally became powerful and prosperous with"two-thirds of the whole country"in hand.After Wang Meng passed away,Fu Jian was carried away by his success and insisted on heading south to conquer the Eastern Jin.Fu met his Waterloo in the Battle of Feishui.Wang Meng’s achievements should not be ignored because of the final defeat of the Pre-Qin.They were recorded in history books,but are rarely mentioned by researchers today.This article introduces Wang Meng’s political and military achievements and the intention is to illustrate that all the historical figures in ancient Chinese history are our ancestors.As long as they contributed to the development of Chinese history,they should be remembered and recognized regardless of their ethnic groups or"nationalities".
