The Impact of Digital Economic Development on Improving Employment Quality in China

充分高质量的就业有助于民生福祉达到更高水平。随着技术进步,数字经济发展水平不断提升,就业质量也将随之产生改变。本文测算我国省级层面数字经济发展水平,并结合CFPS微观调查数据计算就业质量综合指数,分析数字经济对就业质量的影响。研究发现:数字经济促进劳动者就业质量的提升,但也存在异质性。此外,数字技术使用是数字经济影响就业质量的内在机制。基于此,推进高质量就业,应充分发挥数字经济对高质量就业的推动作用、加强对劳动者的数字教育、引导数字经济和城乡就业协调发展。

Adequate and high-quality employment contributes to elevating people’s well-being.With technological advancements,the development level of digital economic has been continuously rising,leading to changes in employment quality.This paper calculates the development level the digital economy at the provincial level in China and,in conjunction with microdata from the CFPS(China Family Panel Studies),computes a comprehensive employment quality index to analyze the impact of the digital economy on employment quality.The study reveals that the digital economy promotes laborers’employment quality,albeit with heterogeneity.Furthermore,the use of digital technology constitutes an intrinsic mechanism through which the digital economy influences employment quality.Based on these findings,promoting high-quality employment should leverage the driving role of the digital economy,strengthen digital education for laborers,and guide the coordinated development of the digital economy and urban-rural employment.
