"五四"是一个意义丰富且具有多重面向的政治资源,其在近代中国的重要性和本身的复杂性为人们提供了巨大的诠释空间。五四运动促进了中共的诞生和发展,中共也重视对其纪念和诠解。民国时期,中共根据时代要务的变化不断赋予"五四"新意,使"五四"意义呈现出阶段性特征。新中国成立后,中共仍不断对"五四"进行纪念、诠解和运用,如通过纪念活动建构"五四"的记忆,凸显"五四""反帝"意义以表达政治诉求,强调和扩展"五四"的"革命"传统,使之成为一种普遍性精神资源等。通过对新中国成立后十七年的"五四"纪念研究,可以看到一个政治节日在新政权建立前后的意义变化及政治运用情况。

"The May-Fourth Movement"is a political symbol with rich significance and pluralistic aspects,and its importance and complexity provide people with great apace for interpretation in modern China The M ay-Fourth Movement promoted the birth and development of the CPC,and the CPC also attached importance to its commemoration and interpretation.During of the ROC,the CPC continued to give new meanings to"the M ay-Fourth Movement"in line with the changing priorities of the times,made the"the M ay-Fourth Movementpresent a stage characteristic.After the founding of the PRC,the CPC continued to commemorate,interpreted and use"the May-Fourth Movement",such as through commemorative activities to construct the memory of"the May-Fourth Movement",highlight"the May-Fourth M ovement""anti-imperialist"meaning to express their political aspirations,and emphasized and expanded the meaning of the tradition of the"Revolution"of"the May-Fourth Movement"which has become a kind of universal spiritual resources,etc.Though the study of the commemoration"the M ay-Fourth Movement"by CPC in 17 years after the founding of the PRC,we can see the changes of the meanings and political application of a political festival after the establishment of the new regime.
