摘要
明清以降,“中学西传”是由自西徂东而来的基督教传教士发起的。无论是耶稣会士还是新教传教士,其中不乏博学鸿儒之士,他们不仅具有传教士身份,也是名副其实的汉学家,理雅各、顾赛芬、安保罗就是其中的代表。他们在中国数十年的传教历程中,以开放、主动的姿态对中国儒家经典《四书》进行了大规模的翻译和研究,这种融汇基督教与中国传统经典的高端对话,不仅推动了基督教在中国的传播进程,而且开通了中国传统经典在海外的传播和研究,也扩展了中西经典译介和诠释的学术交流和对话。
Ming and Qing dynasties,the Confucian Culture had communicated to the West by Christian missionaries both the Jesuits and the Protestant missionaries.Some of them ware erudite scholars,who not only was a missionary,but also ware known as a Sinologist,For example,James Legge,Seraghin Couvreur,and Paul Kranz.They had lived in China for several decades,with open and active attitude to translate and research about Chinese traditional classical“Four Book”,Not only promoted the communication process of Christianity in China,and opened the spread of traditional Chinese classics and research overseas,and also expanded the academic exchanges and dialogue between the translation and interpretation of Chinese and Western.
