“Serving Mammon” and “Valley of Achor”——A Brief Analysis of Corruption and its Prevention in Christian Church

基督教会即使抱有再多美好的理想和神圣的目的存在于世,但它的腐败在历史和现实中也总无法避免。这一方面与它不得不受世俗的熏染有关,另一方面也与相信有神和无神的所有人类的软弱和有限相联,更与教会在俗世的精神性存在形态密不可分。精神性存在赋予了教会在神圣领域的无限权力,这种权力反过来延伸于世俗生活的各个角落。与世俗权力对比起来,教会权力更多地受制于道德的和宗教约束,更少受司法的监督和惩治。本文初步探讨了基督教界腐败现状、成因及防治问题。

The Christian Church,no matter how beautiful the ideal and holy the purpose,has been afflicted by corruption in history and reality.It is under the worldly influences inevitably,and it is also associated with the weakness and finitude of all human beings,believing in God or not.Moreover,it is inseparable from the spiritual existence of the church in the earthly world.Spiritual existence gives the church unlimited power in the holy realm,which in turn extends to every corner of the secular life.In contrast to the secular power,the church power is more subject to moral and religious constraints and less subject to judicial supervision and punishment.This paper probes into the current situation,causes and prevention of corruption in Christian church.
