翻译志愿者多重身份的话语建构

Discursive Construction of Volunteer Translators’Multiple Identities

2020年初,一场突如其来的新冠病毒疫情打乱了社会的正常节奏。在抗击疫情的过程中,中国各地的翻译志愿者们致力于入境人员的服务保障工作。本文以天津某高校志愿翻译服务团队为研究对象,通过收集翻译志愿者相关新闻报道,探讨抗击新冠肺炎疫情的过程中媒体对翻译志愿者身份的话语建构问题。研究发现,媒体将翻译志愿者身份建构为社会奉献者、疫情守卫者、翻译工作者、沟通协调者。翻译志愿者身份的话语建构是一个动态变化的过程,媒体运用话语策略建构集多重身份融为一体的翻译志愿者身份。

In early 2020,the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 threw Chinese people into confusion.In the process of keeping the epidemic under control,volunteer translators from all over China committed to the service of foreigners and handling foreign affairs.This paper attempts to explore the discursive construction of volunteer translators’identity by collecting relevant news reports in Tianjin after the outbreak of the epidemic.The research shows that news discourse constructs four kinds of volunteer identities:gatekeeper of COVID-19,translator,social dedicator and coordinators.The discursive construction of volunteer translators’identity is a dynamic process.The media have used discourse strategies to construct volunteer translator’s identity which integrates multiple identities.
