Review of A Discourse Analysis of News Translation in China

本文介绍劳特利奇出版社于2019年出版的《中国新闻翻译的话语分析》一书的主要内容并简单评价其对话语研究和翻译研究的意义,探讨其在研究视角和研究范式上的创新之处。本文认为该书拓宽了批评话语分析的研究视野,也有助于推动翻译研究的焦点由传统的文本对比研究走向到译者行为及其社会语境研究,是批评话语分析与翻译研究结合的成功尝试。该书强调翻译研究和批评话语分析两个学科之间的融合和相互汲取营养,是超学科视角下的翻译研究新范式。

Based on the introduction of A Discourse Analysis of News Translation in China,a Routledge book published in 2019,this paper highlights its significance in both discourse studies and translation studies thanks to its novel perspective and paradigm.It is found that this book made a successful attempt in applying CDA in translation studies since it enlarged the scope of CDA on the one hand and shifted the focus of translation studies from translated texts to their translators and corresponding social contexts on the other.It also shows that this book offered a new paradigm of translation studies with transdisciplinary characteristics because it emphasized the integration and mutual nourishment between the two disciplines of translation studies and CDA.
