《甬言稽詁》音轉説平議

The Research of Sound-shift in Yongyan Jigu(《甬言稽诂》)

方俗音變是造成古今語言隔閡的重要因素,根據音變規律來考證方言本字和來源是研究方言的有效手段。基於這種認識,應鍾在《甬言稽詁》一書裏大量運用了音轉説。應鍾有較好的音韻學修養,他的音轉説在考證實踐中也有一定的積極作用。但他對寧波方言的“古訓本字”往往主觀臆測,然後借助音轉來彌縫其説,所以絶大部分考證結論經不起推敲。

The phonetic change of dialects and common sayings is an important factor causing the language gap between ancient and modern.It is an effective method to study dialects to verify the original characters and origins of dialects according to the law of phonetic changes.Based on this understanding,Yingzhong(應鍾)made extensive use of the theory of sound-shift in his book Yongyan Jigu(《甬言稽诂》).Yingzhong(應鍾)has good phonology training.His sound-shift theory also plays a positive role in the practice of textual research,However,he often guesses subjectively about the original characters of the Ningbo dialect,and then make up for his theory with the help of sound-shift.Therefore,most of his research conclusions do not stand up to scrutiny.
