This paper combs the views on the principle of the connection of the radicals in Shuowen説文.It discusses the viewpoints of the mainly arranged by character pattern and the arranged by number-system at the programme level and the arranged by phonological.It holds that the character radicals in Shuowen説文are mainly arranged by character pattern and meaning,which character pattern as the surface form and meaning as the inner leading form.
