俞樾《諸子平議·楊子法言》辨疑

A Critical Study of Yanzi Fayan Pingyi in Yu Yue’s Zhuzi Pingyi

《法言》對宋明理學有着深刻的影響,如《二程集》《朱子語類》《近思録》均可發現其留下之痕迹。但此書用詞艱深古奧,使文義晦澀難明。儘管自漢代以來,至北宋中期,爲之作注者不少,亦不能盡解。清代樸學大興,對《法言》相關之校勘、注釋等著作出現,是書面貌漸見清晰,其中俞樾《楊子法言平議》貢獻尤大,素爲後人所重,影響深遠。然而,針對是書失誤之研究極少,不無遺憾。今羅列證據,檢討俞書得失。

Yu Yue(1821-1907)was a distinguished Qing(1644-1912)scholar,whose tremendous achievements in the study of the Chinese classics and philology are greatly respected to this day.His work,Zhuzi Pingyi(《諸子平議》),continue to be essential references for Chinese philologists.However,the author of this paper argue that his commentaries on Yangzi Fayan(《楊子法言》)would benefit from further investigation and refinements.This paper is an attempt to re-examine some of their commentaries on Yangzi Fayan and offer rectification to possible errors.Eight examples will be discussed in detail and it is hoped that the questions raised in this essay will form the basis for further research.
