Study on Issues Related to Map Design

地图是自然与社会现象呈现的一种表现方式,是对空间事物的描述。地图设计由内容设计和内容表现形式两部分组成。最重要的是内容设计,它决定了地图是否具有科学性;表现形式设计是地图包含内容的外在表现形式,它是地图信息科学的、文化的表达以及传递。两者需要互相辅助才可以制造出具有科学性和文化性的地图。

Map is a manifestation of natural and social phenomena and a kind of spatial description.Map design consists of content design and form design.The former is more important since it determines whether the map is scientific.The form is the external representation of the map content,and it is the scientific and cultural expression and transmission of the map.The two need to complement each other in order to produce a scientific and cultural map.
