Outlines of a Critique of National Economics was Engels’first work on economics,based on the lives,aspirations,and struggles of the working class in England,and theoretically based on the abandonment of the main theories of classical political economy.In its content,Outlines takes the negation of bourgeois private ownership as its main direction,and in its structure it reflects the holistic and systematic nature of the critique of capitalist relations of production.It reflects the holistic nature of Marxism and demonstrates the integration of economic,philosophical and socialist thought.Outlines is the founding work of Marxist political economy,and was influential not only in the formation of Engels’historical materialist worldview and the establishment of his communist beliefs,but also in the creation of Marxism and the development of Marxist political economy.
