“Broken Mirror Reunion”——Conservation and Restoration of Bronze Mirrors with Four Mountain Patterns in the Warring States Period

镜子,从古至今都是人们不可或缺的生活用品。古人用镜,不仅以之映照妆容、装饰居所,还用它来寄托相思、辟邪祈福,更用它来比拟人物、譬喻德行。可见,镜子在古代人们生活中的意义非凡。本文以一件战国四山纹铜镜的修复保护为例,针对该文物存在的矿化、残缺等病害,制定相应的保护修复方案,使其病害得以控制,形貌得以复原,从而延长文物寿命。

Mirrors have been an indispensable daily necessity for people’s lives since ancient times.The ancients used mirrors not only to mirror their makeup and decorate their homes,but also to entrust acacia,to ward off evil and pray for blessings,even to compare characters and virtues.It indicated that the mirror played a signifi cant role in ancient people’s lives.This paper took the restoration of a bronze mirror with four mountain patterns of the Warring States period as an example.Based on the mineralization,and incompleteness of the cultural relic,a corresponding protection and restoration plan is formulated so that the damage can be controlled and its appearance can be restored.Thereby extending the life of cultural relics.
