西汉武陵郡及属县考

A Study of Wuling Prefecture and Its Affi liated Counties in the Western Han Dynasty

《汉书·地理志》谓“武陵郡,高帝置”,辖十三县,曰索、孱陵、临沅、沅陵、镡成、无阳、迁陵、辰阳、酉阳、义陵、佷山、零阳、充。然而,由出土西汉简牍、玺印及漆器铭文的相关记载分析,《汉书》所载武陵郡只是西汉后期的政区设置。而西汉前期所辖十三县应为:索、临沅、沅陵、镡成、无阳、迁陵、辰阳、酉阳、义陵、零阳、充、门浅、沅阳。西汉后期,门浅和沅阳两县省并,孱陵由南郡改属武陵郡,并新置佷山县。

The Book of Han History·Geography says that“Wuling Prefecture was built by Emperor Gao”.It governs 13 counties:Suo,Chanling,Linyuan,Yuanling,Tancheng,Wuyang,Qianling,Chenyang,Youyang,Yiling,Hengshan,Lingyang and Chong.However,according to the relevant records and analysis of the unearthed bamboo slips,seals and lacquer inscriptions of the Western Han Dynasty,the Wuling Prefecture in the Book of Han History is only the administrative district in the late Western Han Dynasty.The thirteen counties under the jurisdiction of the early Western Han Dynasty should be:Suo,Linyuan,Yuanling,Tancheng,Wuyang,Qianling,Chenyang,Youyang,Yiling,Lingyang,Chong,Menqian,Yuanyang.In the late Western Han Dynasty,Menqian County and Yuanyang County merged,and Chanling County was changed from Nanjun County to Wuling County,and a new Hengshan County was established.
