Shanghai’s Old Alleys:The Smell of Real Life in Memory

“上海的弄堂是性感的,有一股肌肤之亲似的。它有着触手的凉和暖,是可感可知,有一些私心的。”上海著名女作家王安忆在《长恨歌》中曾发出如此感叹。“要是一个人到了上海而没有去上海的弄堂走一走,应该要觉得很遗憾。”另一位上海知名女作家陈丹燕在《上海的弄堂》中也曾这般说过。

“Shanghai’s alleys look attractive and seem to have intimate relations with people.Their coolness and warmth can be felt as if they have their own preferences,”Wang Anyi,a famous female writer in Shanghai,once expressed her feelings about Shanghai’s alleys in The Song of Everlasting Sorrow.“You will feel sorry if you don’t go to the alleys when visiting Shanghai.”Chen Danyan,another well-known female writer in Shanghai,wrote in Shanghai’s Old Alleys.
