论国际大学排行榜对中国高等教育的“双刃剑效应”及应对策略

On"Double-Edged Sword"Effect of International University Rankings on China's Higher Education and Countermeasures

摘要 中国人民大学等国内知名大学相继宣布退出国际大学排行榜,在国内高等教育界乃至整个社会引发热议。国际大学排行榜对中国高等教育有“双刃剑效应”:既是大学综合实力的客观推力和大学国际化发展的牵引动力,也存在中国大学难进前列、文科类大学发展艰难、影响教育公平等负面影响。有效利用国际大学排行榜,需要选择适切的应对策略:既要摆脱“排名”陷阱,回归教育本质,又要保持理性态度、避免矫枉过正,同时也不能过于依赖国际大学排行榜,要扎根中国大地建设具有中国特色的大学评估体系。 Recently,Renmin University of China and other well-known Chinese universities have announced their withdrawal from the international University rankings,which has sparked heated debate in China's higher education circles and the whole society.International university rankings have a"double-edged sword effect"on China's higher education:on one hand,it is both an objective thrust for the domestic universities to show their comprehensive strength world-widely,and a traction power for them to develop into global higher institutions.On the other hand,this ranking phenomenon has negative impacts on universities in China,such as Chinese universities’trouble in ranking top,liberal arts universities’obstacle in development,and the unfavorable influence on education equity,etc.However,we can still make good use of the international university rankings:we are supposed to resist the lure or the trap of"ranking"while sticking to original meaning and goals of education,and keep a rational attitude free of overcorrection as well.Actually,it is urgent for us to build a Chinese-style university evaluation system rather than to rely heavily on international university rankings.
