MXene and carbon nanotubes,as two prominent low-dimensional materials, have been widely used in many fields. However,MXene materials are still far from the theoretical values in practical studies because of their unique lamellar structure and abundant surface functional groups. This paper discussed the research progress of MXene/CNTs composites from preparations to applications based on the characteristics and preparation methods of MXene materials, combined with the existing carbon nanotubes researches. The composite of MXene materials and carbon nanotubes offered superior performance, along with MXene's better hydrophilicity and good dispersion stability, which made the preparation of MXene/CNTs composites more diversified and could have great prospects for applications in strain sensing, electromagnetic shielding, catalysis, high dielectric materials, battery and supercapacitor electrode materials.
