The Round House, an award-winning novel by native American writer Louise Erdrich, is characterized by its distinctive postcolonial ecocritical writing, which starts from the injustice against modern native American people and traces the cause of social problems back to the colonial history from the perspectives of ecology. The denouncement of environmental racism and speciesism in the novel, exemplified by land grabbing and animal killing, demonstrates the increasing anti-colonial ecological consciousness in Erdrich’s literary creation as well as her ceaseless efforts to defend her native home.
