摘要
有关艺术家与赞助人的事迹是瓦萨里《名人传》的重要组成部分,反映出他较早地关注到赞助人的作用。为了叙事的连续性,瓦萨里借助了历史想象来解决因文献匮乏导致的艺术家生平事迹的缺失,避免了艺术家传记的叙事中断,从而使得《名人传》中艺术家与赞助人的事迹生动而详细。对历史想象的使用还暗含了瓦萨里特定的叙事意图,使他能够借助既有的传记叙事模式对艺术展开历史维度的思考,开拓了艺术史撰述的路径。
The content about artists and patrons occupies a large length of Vasari's Lives and becomes an important part of the artist's life experience.Compared with other scholars of this period,Vasari obviously attached more importance to the function and role played by patrons in art history.Since there are few references on art available in this period,how did Vasari construct the storyline of artists and patrons when he began writing?Historical imagination or fiction effectively filled the plot gap Vasari encountered in writing biographies about artists,and ultimately made the stories about artists in the biography more vivid and detailed than those of other contemporary scholars.The purpose of this paper is to investigate Vasari's text on patronage,analyze its literature sources,and reveal his intention of the emphasis on patronage.
