Translating Native Cultures for International Audience is a general course of translating the stories richly loaded with native cultures in the context of school-based education. The course is targeted at the students majoring in language and culture-related services with an aim to develop their cultural awareness, sensitivity to cultural differences in interlingual communication as well as their strategic competence of problem-solving in translating their native cultures.Translation pedagogy should be guided by theories that focus on the development of translation competence and the decision-making process in translation.Activity Theory can provide explanations for expanding translation competence and decision-making mechanisms for problem-solving.Based on this,we explored the goals, content, and implementation models of the course through reflective educational practice.
