New Mainstream films undergo a 20-year long growth and have developed a brand-new narrative approach.They create a complete and effective identification mechanism,which comprises three aspects:positioning spectacle imagesbeforethe filmic narrative to enable the audiences to immerse themselves in the movies,suturing grand narratives with individual expressions to erase the distance between the audience and the films,and Intertextualizing images and the realities to achieve the goal ofthe symbiosis of meaning and to respond to the call of the mainstream ideology.This identification mechanism that subsumes the three aspects is a self-consistent system,capable of correcting the inclination of excessively representing spectacle images and allowing for the continual innovation of new mainstream films.
