A university is judged not by its big size,but by its academic achievements.Disciplines in a university are judged not by their extensive coverage,but by their quality,excellence and extraordinariness.In the course of centennial development,Hunan Agricultural University has adopted a series of measures for the development of Horticulture as follows:carrying forward the revolutionary spirit and traditions to forge the“soul”of discipline culture;giving priority to the team building to grasp the“key”to discipline prosperity;cultivating talents for the country to bolster“foothold”of discipline construction;repaying the society in an innovative manner to consolidate the“foundation”of discipline development;creating and developing industries for the benefit of people to fortify the“root”of discipline strength.It has explored actively in building Horticulture to enter the first-class league and formed a path for discipline development with unique local characteristics.
