Exploring a New Discipline System that Meets the Needs of Future Development

"双一流"建设是新时期党和国家建设高等教育强国的重要战略决策部署。在"双一流"建设中,学科建设是基础和重要建设内容。这要求我们立足当前、放眼未来,在准确把握学校的办学定位、优势特色、国家战略和区域经济社会发展需要的基础上,重点构建适应未来发展需要的学科新体系,并以此开创学校建设发展的新局面。自2017年被列入国家首批一流大学建设高校以来,云南大学立足学校实际,围绕一流学科建设计划、基础学科振兴计划、新工科发展计划、新时代新文科发展计划四大学科计划,积极探索构建适应学校未来发展需要的学科新体系,有效激发了学校发展的内生动力,有力推进了学校"双一流"建设。

The Double World-Class Initiative is an important strategic decision and deployment formulated by the party and the central government in an effort to make China internationally renowned for its higher education in the new era.Discipline development is the foundation and key part of the Initiative.It is required that we must proceed from the current situation and look into the future.Based on accurately grasping the university’s orientation,advantageous characteristics,national strategies,as well as the needs of regional economic and social development,it is of great importance to build a new discipline system that meets the needs of future development,and to strive to open a new chapter in university development.In 2017,Yunnan University was listed among the first batch of universities for the Double World-Class Initiative.Ever since then,it has been actively exploring a new discipline system that meets the needs of its future development by assessing its realities and launching the"Four Discipline Projects",namely the first-class discipline construction project,the basic discipline promotion project,the new engineering development project,and the new liberal arts development project for a New Era.All of these measures have effectively stimulated the university’s internal driving forces for development and further bolstered its endeavors for the Double World-Class Initiative.
