由商而兴——近代上海邑庙民间手工艺区研究

Prosperity from Commerce——A Study of Old Town Marketplace for Traditional Crafts in Modern Shanghai

近代上海传统工艺品市场集中在老城厢地区,作为手工艺产品零售与批发业务的传统市场,以工艺品种多样、经营模式灵活、价格大众化而远近闻名。自开埠以来,移民文化和租界文化带来新的工艺品种与经营方式,不断扩充老城厢工艺区的行业资源,促进传统经营与现代商业模式的融合发展。本文列举老城厢珠宝玉器业、银楼业、笺扇书画业三种代表性传统工艺产业,分析其特色市场的形成与发展。论述近代都市工商业文明影响下,新型城市工商团体的建立以及都市商业空间布局的变迁,对传统手工艺商品经济向现代市场经济转型的影响。

Modern Shanghai traditional handicraft market concentrated in the old town area.As a traditional market for retail and wholesale of handicraft products,it is famous for its diverse craft varieties,flexible business models and popular prices.Since the opening of the port,the immigrant culture and concession culture have brought new craft varieties and operation modes,continuously expanding the industrial resources of the old town marketplace,and promoting the integrated development of traditional operation and modern business model.It lists three representative traditional craft industries,namely jewelry and jade industry,gold and silver industry,calligraphy and painting industry,and analyzes the formation and development of their characteristic markets.Under the influence of modern urban industrial and commercial civilization,the establishment of new urban industrial and commercial groups and the change of urban commercial space layout both play an important role in the transformation from traditional handicraft economy to modem market economy.
