In terms of the Spatial Regulation in New York City written by Themis Chronopoulos, this book is the first monograph to systematically discuss the measures and policies for Post-war New York city dealing with the physical and social disorder. On one hand,it illustrates the existence of urban disorder such as slum, crime, and graffiti;on the other hand,it observes the different solutions taken by different governments, revealing the results and influences after implementation plans.Focusing on specific cases of urban disorder,it probes the cause and effect of urban regulation, and how the city returns to global economic dominance from the brink of bankruptcy. Thus,it can be concluded that spatial regulation offers a very rich grounding of contemporary spatial politics and urban governance policy.
