摘要 This paper presents a scientometric study of Indian Veterinary Journal(IVJ)using Publish or Perish(Po P)during the period 1977-2016(39 years). The study used Google Scholar to obtain raw citations and analyze various citation metrics to find the impact of Indian Veterinary Journal on emerging research. The growth of contributions by year, authorship trends, author productivity by Lotka’s law, single and multi-authored papers by year, and the most prolific contributors was examined in a total of thousands of research papers. Also, the relative IVJ growth rate and doubling time are evaluated for the period of the sample. The data analysis revealed that the highest number of submissions,i.e.223(22.30 percent),was published in the years 1992-1996.The total number of authors per paper is 2.97,the highest number of the output of authors,i.e.15 research papers;the collaboration degree is 0.91%.For a more comprehensive evaluation of the effects of research and scholarly production, the paper suggests journal and author productivity collaborative practice using sensibly selected metrics.
