摘要
20世纪初的上海亟须建立艺术与工业、商业之间的联系,一批画家群体成为现代艺术的开拓者。曾受聘于英美烟草公司广告部的艺术家胡伯翔,就是这样一位代表。他是一位多才多艺之人:画家、商业美术家、摄影家、实业家。他所拥有的多重身份,一方面体现了民国时期艺术家所具有的多面手特征,另一方面也反映出20世纪上海由“消费城市”到“生产城市”的功能转型。胡伯翔与张光宇、丁悚等艺术界人士,以及与陈蝶仙等实业界人士形成的海上文艺圈,对于我们理解上海艺术的转型有一定的参考意义。本文通过个案研究,对胡伯翔的生平及其艺术思想和产业实践进行考证,由此理解20世纪的上海现代艺术是如何实现从传统到现代的变革。
At the beg inning of the 20 th century the re was an urgent need in Shanghai to establish a Link between art,industry and commerce,and a group of painters became the pioneers of modern art.One such representative was the artist Hu Boxiang,who was employed by the advertising department of the British American Tobacco Company,and a man of ma ny talents:painter,commercia l artist,photographer and industrialist… Hist multiple identities reflect the versatility of the artists of the Republican period as well as the transformation of Shanghai from a "consumer city" to a "production city" in the 20 th century.The Shanghai-style Literary and artistic circle formed by Hu Boxiang,Zhang Guangyu,Ding Song and others in the art world,as well as with Chen Diexian and others in the Industrial sector,is a reference for our understanding of the transformation of art in Shanghai.Through a case study,this paper examines Hu Boxiang’s Life as well as his artistic thought and industrial practice,thereby understanding how modern art in Shanghai in the twentieth century achieved a transformation from tradition to modernity.
