The essay narrates Zheng Shinong’s entrepreneurial journey from an apprentice to a merchant and his contributions to the revolutionary work.In the 1930s,he assisted Lu Zhiying,a special agent of the Communist Party of China to carry out intelligence work as a businessman and later helped Lu’s family members until after the liberation of Shanghai.Zheng Shinong’s personal experience is an epitome of an era,reflecting the then patriots’contributions to the course of the national liberation during the special period.
