Yuyangli——The Starting Point of the Glorious Course of Creating the World

1920年夏,上海共产党早期组织成立,它开展的许多重要工作都与渔阳里关系密切。当年,渔阳里这片石库门建筑,按建造先后有老渔阳里、新渔阳里之分,一条"马克思主义小道"将两者贯通。在此,毛泽东与陈独秀进行初次会晤,杨明斋、俞秀松、李达、李汉俊、陈望道、沈雁冰等曾挑灯夜战,刘少奇、罗亦农、任弼时、萧劲光、梁柏台、雷晋笙、汪寿华等曾刻苦学习和参加革命活动;在此,出现了中共党史的不少"第一"。完全可以说,这里是我党"开天辟地"光辉历程的起点。

In the summer of 1920,the CPC’s organization during its early stage established,carrying out many important tasks closely related to Yuyangli.Yuyangli,according to the construction year of the Shikumen-style buildings inside it,is divided into Old Yuyangli and New Yuyangli,which were connected by a so-called Marxism path.Mao Zedong and Chen Duxiu had their first meeting here;some communists like Yang Mingzhai,Li Da,and Chen Wangdao once burnt the midnight oil here;other communists like Liu Shaoqi,Luo Yinong and Wang Shouhua studied hard and participated in revolutionary activities here.Numerous firsts in the history of the CPC were created here so that it’s safe to say that Yuyangli is the starting point of our Party’s glorious course of creating the world.
